Announcement!
Manooghi Hi 'Silence' released in India!
and featured on ArtistAloud.com
Hello to our friends in India we hope to see you soon!!

Manooghi Hi,
the Seattle based ground-breaking musical affair fronted by the talented & vivacious Bombay-native performer Mehnaz Hoosein, has recently launched their second release entitled "Silence" on June 3 in Seattle, with a release in India just around the corner.

This unprecedented brand of rock-and-roll seamlessly blends a variety of cultural and artistic histories in to a fluid and seductively powerful combination. Theirs is an honest effort to amalgamate the melodic refinement and rustic mysticism of the East with the instrumentation and musical sensibilities of the West, spawning a new breed of "International Rock" that is edgy, distinct, intrinsically diverse and, in a word, breathtaking.

Mehnaz- "We have always looked to challenge ourselves in our quest to create the entity that is Manooghi Hi. Our music comes straight from the soul and although it may not be mainstream, it still connects with audiences and that's just awesome! We've worked hard on this album and hope that it strikes the right chords."

Comprised of a cadre of Seattle-based veteran musicians and global-sensation performer Mehnaz, Manooghi Hi released their self-titled debut in 2009. Following the release they performed at multiple high-profile events including "South By Southwest" in Austin, Texas and the "Sundance Film Festival" in Park City, Utah. The results of their experimental work became vividly clear at these live performances where electric guitars, funky & florid keys and bass and a slamming rhythm section align with Mehnaz and Ava's soaring vocal gymnastics that are at once lifting and transcendent, then blues-heavy and thunderous.

After several years of promotional touring and experimental writing, Manooghi Hi has now arrived at a new chapter in their continuing evolution. Their new release, "Silence" is the testament to this journey. In keeping with their roots and personal truth, the album contains songs that address themes of evolution, unity, rebirth, and liberation, while anchoring them with deliberate musical content and a dedicated purpose. Tracks such as "Kismet", "My Friends" and the title-bearing "Silence" pull the listener around the musical globe in a dizzying and raucous storm, while other selections like "Space that Drops In", "Everything" and "Where India Begins" paint vivid scenes of growth, dimension and personal reflection that can be experienced in all cultures, by all ages, in any time.

If one could describe the experience of Manooghi hi in a single word it could be "compelling", "unpredictable" or even "unbelievable". In any case, a beautiful component to their music is that in their quest to create something unprecedented, something previously not attempted, they've succeeded in keeping it simple and most importantly, truthful.
Guitarist and producer Todd Fogelsonger once said, "Mehnaz isn't trying to be a western singer, and we're not trying to be an Indian band". And that is true today. Manooghi Hi is a genuine musical hybrid never yet seen or heard before that has crossed international barriers and yet managed to retain strong personal identities which has allowed the members to coalesce their diverse artistic traditions into union.

Mehnaz- "Manooghi Hi has gifted me with a pair of life-colored glasses. From a love affair with nature to the sensual stroke of a brush on canvas, it makes me see the world differently and what springs from this, is the music. It is purity and love and that's my greatest truth."
